Noreen is the embodiment of justice and advocacy. She ensured my mother’s voice was heard, even when my mother could not fully advocate for herself.
It is with deep gratitude and admiration that I nominate Noreen for the DAISY award at OSF HealthCare Little Company of Mary. During my mother's inpatient stay, Noreen exemplified everything nursing is meant to be. She did not simply care for a diagnosis; she cared for a person.

From the moment she walked into the room, it was evident that she practices nursing with compassion, integrity, and extraordinary clinical skills. What stood out most was how well she truly knew her patient. Noreen had cared for my mother four months prior, and she remembered her. Because of that attentiveness and commitment, she recognized subtle but concerning changes in my mother's mental status. She did not dismiss them. She acted quickly, competently, and confidently, alerting the appropriate medical staff and ensuring my mother received prompt evaluation. Her vigilance and leadership made a difference.

Noreen is the embodiment of justice and advocacy. She ensured my mother’s voice was heard, even when my mother could not fully advocate for herself. She treated her with dignity, respect, and fairness at every turn. She upheld the highest standards of integrity, always communicating honestly and clearly with our family.

Her teamwork was seamless. She collaborated with physicians and staff with professionalism and confidence. I vividly remember a moment when I had forgotten to ask the physician an important question. Before the doctor left the unit, Noreen thoughtfully stopped her to ensure I received the answers I needed. That may seem small, but in a vulnerable moment for our family, it meant everything. She did not just provide medical care; she provided trust.

Noreen builds trust naturally. She communicates with warmth, clarity, and calm assurance. She made our family feel informed, included, and supported. Her leadership was quiet but powerful and grounded in competence, compassion, and moral courage.

In many ways, Noreen reflects the legacy of Florence Nightingale and Mary Potter nurses who believed that healing requires both skilled hands and a compassionate heart. She also lives out the mission and values of Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis and OSF HealthCare: serving with the greatest care and love in a community that celebrates the gift of life.

Noreen is the ultimate patient advocate. She leads with justice, practices with integrity, collaborates with teamwork, inspires trust, and delivers care rooted deeply in compassion. Our family will never forget the difference she made during a difficult time. She is truly deserving of this DAISY Award.
