Not only was she amazing at teaching me all about my post-op care and setting expectations, but she also made me feel welcome and calm, and even helped me actually enjoy my day.
Today was my very first surgery. Already nervous as I have a deep fear of needles, and given the fact that I had emergency surgery at the top of the morning, my nerves were at an all-time high. Mari was my nurse, and not only was she amazing at teaching me all about my post-op care and setting expectations, but she also made me feel welcome and calm, and even helped me actually enjoy my day. She is someone my friends and I are beyond grateful for. Even though we are young and had multiple people in the room, she laughed with us, joked with us, and took the time to soothe me and help me through all the blood draws and wound care. She is beyond special to us.

Mari was the best nurse we had while at Dignity Health. She took the time to get to know J, and he loved her. She communicated very well- kept me informed, which I really appreciated. She explained things thoroughly. She teased with J, and he loved that. She was gentle and kind when dealing with J. She made “check out” very easy. She asked if we had any questions and gave me information even before I asked. She was very attentive to J’s needs. It made our experience great. She worked with us as a team, not as an “authority,” and respected that I had a wealth of information about my husband. When you work as a team and not a “medical authority,” J benefits and his health are so much better. Thank you, Mari!
