From the moment Colleen introduced herself, I knew I was in good hands. I was extremely anxious going into labor. This was our first baby, and the thought of the entire process was overwhelming. She immediately told me that anxious patients are her favorite because she gets to be by their side and help make them comfortable throughout the process.

She returned to our room with a book for our baby that included the sweetest and most heartfelt note written in it. During my labor, Colleen never stopped advocating for me or looking for ways to help my body progress. She made it a priority to listen to our birth plan. Although Colleen was scheduled to get off her shift when it was time for my C-section, she graciously offered to stay so she could be there with me in the delivery room.

She is exactly the kind of nurse every patient hopes to have and is profoundly deserving of this DAISY Award recognition.
