A small emergency brought all her nursing skills to light. She calmly checked vitals and talked to me in a calm manner. As I cried and showed my fear, she just stayed calm, made eye contact, and knew when to call the doctor for pain support. Even though she was taking care of others on the floor, she would do a quick check, which always gave me the feeling I was not forgotten and someone cared.
