Josh stood out with his attentiveness and compassionate care not only for my father but for my family.
Josh was my father’s nurse yesterday after he required intubation on the med-surg floor. During intubation, an artery on my father’s uvula was nicked, and he was bleeding profusely and continuously.
Once he arrived in CCU, Josh did everything in his power to provide care for my dad, including suctioning and packing his mouth. He was very diligent in changing out the pads, catching the blood that just wouldn’t stop. He was also very attentive to my dad’s blood pressure fluctuations.
During our prolonged stay at SEH, the critical care staff has been phenomenal. This was Dad’s fourth visit to critical care since his initial hospitalization for a stroke in December. Josh stood out with his attentiveness and compassionate care not only for my father but for my family. We would not be where we are today without him and the other staff involved in my dad’s long journey over the last few months.
Josh also had a Troy University student with him. Josh was excellent at teaching and demonstrating to this student, and the student was extremely compassionate in dad’s care as well.
Thank you so much for taking care of my father and my family yesterday during the most difficult day in our lives. You are part of his journey now, and I am thankful your healing hands are in his story.

Josh went above and beyond to make sure not only that my son was taken care of and comfortable, but also that we, as a family, were. He was amazing!

Josh was amazing. He made me feel comfortable and kept my pain as low as possible - he was always checking in on me. When I needed anything, he was there. Even after getting out of the CCU and going to the floor, he came to check on me. He was a great nurse, unlike any other.
