Lindsay was incredibly compassionate, patient, and humorous as I was reawakening from anesthesia and getting ready for discharge.
I was going through my very first surgery experience, and was quite anxious for the surgery itself, the nature of my injury, and the hardware getting installed in my ankle, as a result of a fall at a concert. The entirety of the care team was phenomenal, from pre-op nurses, the surgical, anesthesia, and care teams (all at BIDMC), and my experience with Lindsay post-op in the PACU was the cherry on top.
Lindsay was incredibly compassionate, patient, and humorous as I was reawakening from anesthesia and getting ready for discharge. She checked on me an ample number of times as I was coming to, helped me with comfort as I was getting acclimated to my numbed leg, pulled up a chair to chat with me and ease any anxieties, informatively educated me on next steps, pain management and what to expect, helped follow up with the surgical team with questions I had, and was overall the definition of an empathic and exemplary nurse and human. As a result, I left the PACU in surprisingly high spirits and a positive outlook on future recovery, while being on crutches with a freshly operated-on leg. It'll be hard to forget not just the excellent experience I had at BIDMC across my whole journey, and it's especially Lindsay who capped off my experience memorably and positively.
