Despite the injury, he immediately stood back up and continued to the patient's bedside to ensure the rescue mission was not delayed.
A 'Code Blue' was activated in the Cyberknife unit. The Code Blue team responded immediately, including the ICU Charge Nurse, Ashraf Alaa El-Din.
While rushing to the scene, Mr. Ashraf fell, landing directly on the same knee that had previously undergone surgery. Despite the injury, he immediately stood back up and continued to the patient's bedside to ensure the rescue mission was not delayed. His persistence allowed the team to arrive and initiate life-saving protocols within two minutes.
Regrettably, as a result of this incident and his commitment to the patient’s safety over his own, it has been determined that he will require another surgical intervention on that same knee.
