Working with Chris is a privilege and honor. I am grateful and appreciative of all he does, not only for myself and the department, but most importantly, the patients in the community he serves.
Chris serves as the only nurse for the Department of Radiology, specifically as the Interventional Radiology nurse, supporting all invasive procedures in the department as well as helping with difficult vascular access throughout the hospital, monitoring patients during cardiac CT and MR cases, tracking supplies and billing, and providing pre- and post-procedural clinical follow-up with patients, among many other countless things. Chris's dedication to the department, and more importantly, the patients that enter our department from the community, is exemplary. Without Chris, the Interventional Radiology service line would not exist at Queen's North Community Hospital.

Chris is always prepared, anticipating patient and physician needs well before they come to fruition. His clinical knowledge and expertise are such a valuable asset, putting not only his patients, but also the other hospital staff, at ease, witnessing and experiencing his skills, which far exceed any baseline level of competency. His dedication to the department is inspiring; he is always advocating for improved patient care and better systems and processes to increase access and elevate the level of care for our community. He never says "No," he is always willing to help and troubleshoot issues, even if technically the problem is not within his sphere of influence. He is serving as an example to others of how a selfless employee focused on patient care should act.

When Chris is involved with one of my patients, I know that I can focus on the technical aspects of the procedure and not continually micromanage other aspects of the patient's care because I trust him implicitly with the safety of our patients. Most importantly is Chris's presence with his patients. His calm demeanor is unshakable in tense, stressful situations. His empathy and understanding make every patient he encounters feel as if they are the most important of the day.

Working with Chris is a privilege and honor. I am grateful and appreciative of all he does, not only for myself and the department, but most importantly, the patients in the community he serves.
