He emphasized how knowledgeable she is about every patient on the unit and how her thorough preparation makes a significant difference—especially for doctors on their first day on the floor.
Christine is an inspiration to me for the way she leads and supports the staff while fostering a learning environment. During my time at Southern, I have noticed that when nurses have asked Christine questions, she doesn’t just give them the answer; she challenges them to find the solution themselves first. She thoughtfully guides them by asking questions that lead them toward the solution and directing them to the appropriate resources. This approach encourages critical thinking, builds confidence, and promotes professional growth. Christine is not only helping nurses solve problems in the moment but also equipping them with the skills to make informed decisions independently in the future. By fostering these leadership qualities, she is helping to develop nurses who will, in turn, support and guide others.
Although I am not a nurse, Christine’s leadership has had a meaningful impact on me as well. She inspires me to be a better healthcare worker through her dedication, thoughtfulness, and commitment to both her team and her patients. Her example sets a standard of excellence that extends beyond any one role and influences the entire care environment.
I also admire that Christine is always thinking ahead, making sure the patients are doing well and the staff have the necessary equipment for the next shift. She recognizes that healthcare is a continuous, 24-hour responsibility, and her proactive mindset reflects a strong commitment to both patient care and team success. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team!

Christine goes above and beyond the expectations of her role each and every day. She sets the standard for nursing excellence through her strong clinical expertise, sound judgment, and steadfast integrity. Her presence on the unit brings a sense of confidence and stability—staff know they can rely on her for guidance, support, and leadership in any situation.
She demonstrates leadership in both the big picture and the smallest details. Christine ensures that unit equipment is well managed so staff have the tools they need to provide safe, effective care. She is also a trusted resource for technology, frequently troubleshooting and resolving IT challenges to minimize disruptions and keep the team running smoothly.
Her commitment to patient care is unmatched. Christine is often the first to step in during critical situations, offering assistance wherever needed, regardless of the assignment. She maintains a global awareness of all patients on the unit, allowing her to anticipate needs, coordinate care, and support the interdisciplinary team in real time. Her work supporting patient throughput—ensuring accurate estimated discharge dates and coordinating complex care elements—directly contributes to improved outcomes and flow.
Her leadership and impact are widely recognized, not only by nursing staff but also by providers. I was recently approached by a physician who specifically asked that Christine be recognized for her exceptional work facilitating our daily huddle. He emphasized how knowledgeable she is about every patient on the unit and how her thorough preparation makes a significant difference—especially for doctors on their first day on the floor. Her ability to clearly communicate patient needs and priorities ensures the entire team is aligned and prepared to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
Christine is deeply respected by her peers for her reliability, knowledge, and collaborative spirit. Her leadership elevates the entire team, creating an environment where both patients and staff thrive.
