I want to thank Nurse Olivia Kylander from the bottom of my heart for the extraordinary compassion and care she gave to my son, during his admission. As a mother of a medically complex child, hospital stays are overwhelming, but her presence brought us comfort, calm, and a sense of safety when we needed it most. She treated my son with such gentleness, patience, and respect, and I could feel how deeply she cared about his comfort and well-being. Knowing he was in her hands allowed me to breathe a little easier during an incredibly difficult time. What touched me just as deeply was the way Olivia cared for me. She checked in on me when she didn't have to, made sure I understood what was happening, and offered reassurance when I was exhausted and scared. She reminded me that I wasn't alone. That kindness will stay with me long after this hospital stay is over. I am also profoundly grateful for the way Olivia advocated for our family by helping coordinate communication with the PA and the social worker. Because of her, my son's needs were heard, addressed, and taken seriously. Olivia's willingness to speak up and connect the right people made a real and lasting difference in his care. Nurses like her are the heart of healthcare. Her compassion goes far beyond clinical skill; it brings healing in ways medicine alone cannot.
