While we often hear negative stories regarding VA Hospitals, the care my uncle received during the final days of his life deserves to be shared and celebrated. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, chaplains, and staff in the palliative care unit on 6E. You all went above and beyond to ensure my uncle’s final nine days were as peaceful and pain-free as we could have hoped for. The compassion and love shown to our family surpassed anything I have witnessed in most other hospitals. I would like to send a special thank you to Nurse Hope. Your grace and understanding during a difficult moment for me did not go unnoticed.
