It is with great respect and admiration that I nominate the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Team of Camp Panacan Station Hospital (CPSH) for the DAISY Award in recognition of their outstanding commitment, compassion, and invaluable contributions to the mental well-being of military personnel within the Area of Responsibility of Eastern Mindanao Command.

The team is composed of LTC Ares G Macailing, NC, Ms. Juliet S. Concepcion, RPSy, and Ms. Bernel B. Ramos, RPm, whose collective expertise and dedication have significantly impacted the lives of soldiers across various military camps.

Through their proactive outreach initiatives, the team has successfully extended mental health services beyond the hospital setting, ensuring that psychological care is accessible to those in need, even in remote and operational environments.

One of their core activities is the conduct of group process and stress debriefing facilitation, which serves as a vital preventive measure designed to assist soldiers in coping with the effects of critical and stressful situations. These interventions empower individuals to utilize their inner strengths and resilience, enabling them to effectively manage the rigors of military life and maintain productivity while addressing their emotional and psychological needs.

In addition, the team actively provides psychoeducation sessions and serves as lecturers on relevant mental health topics, enhancing awareness and reducing stigma associated with mental health concerns among troops. Their efforts contribute to building a culture of openness, understanding, and proactive mental health care within the military community.

Furthermore, the MHPSS Team delivers various psychological interventions and strategies aimed at minimizing, if not preventing, the adverse effects of traumatic stress and critical incidents experienced by soldiers. Their work plays a crucial role in mitigating the risk of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and promoting long-term psychological resilience.

The impact of their initiatives has been widely recognized and deeply appreciated by the troops they serve. Their activities have consistently received favorable feedback from participants, reflecting the effectiveness, relevance, and compassion embedded in their approach to care.

The Camp Panacan Station Hospital MHPSS Team exemplifies excellence in nursing and allied health services through their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to holistic patient care. Their contributions have not only improved the mental health of individual soldiers but have also strengthened the overall readiness and well-being of the military force.
