Bota went above and beyond to make sure my son was very well taken care of and that his recovery was going to be great.
My son was admitted for his appendix and was going to have surgery the next morning. Bota was his nurse that night, and she helped him with making sure he understood what was happening. He was very scared, as he had never been in the hospital or had a major surgery. The morning of surgery, he was very nervous. He started having a lot of pain to the point he was screaming and crying. Bota came in to calm him down and gave him more pain medicine. He was having a panic attack, and at that point, no one could relax him. Bota had to call a rapid response. Watching my teenage son go through that was so scary. Bota was amazing during the whole thing, caring for him and trying to keep me calm as well. It was at the end of Bota’s shift, and she stayed over to make sure he was ok. After a bit, my son was better, and he asked me where his “G” nurse was. I asked him who that was, and it was Bota. Later that night, Bota came back into his room to check on him and see how the surgery went. He said, “Oh, my G nurse is here. My night will be so much better!” Bota went above and beyond to make sure my son was very well taken care of and that his recovery was going to be great. As parents, watching your child go through surgery, and even a rapid procedure, was one of the scariest things we have ever had to deal with. But Bota made his stay so much better, and she should receive the DAISY Award for her amazing care for my son.
