It is such a difficult time when a patient comes in with a diagnosis. Lexi Peterson took a lot of time caring for this patient and her baby. As Lexi carefully chose items of remembrance for the family, she also took a bear and replaced its stuffing with rice so it would weigh the same as the baby they lost; this way, they would have something tangible to remember her by. She did all this on her own accord while taking care of her other patients. Once she got the weight correct, she hand-sewed the bear back together. I watched Lexi laugh, cry, and love this patient and her family. Lexi is truly a joy to work with and shows such compassion to others.
