Having your newborn unexpectedly taken for specialized care after delivery is a frightening and emotional experience for any parent. During this incredibly stressful time, this nurse went above and beyond to provide comfort, reassurance, and exceptional care for both our baby and our family.

From the very beginning, Shawn helped put us at ease during a time filled with fear and uncertainty. She made the experience feel as though our child was being cared for by someone who truly loved and protected them. Whenever we had questions, she took the time to answer them with patience and reassurance, helping us better understand what was happening and easing our worries.

One moment in particular will stay with me forever. I was sitting in the room feeling overwhelmed and crying, struggling with guilt about what my baby was going through. She came over, comforted me, and reassured me that nothing I had done caused the situation. She took the time to explain what was happening in a calm and supportive way, while also offering small gestures of kindness that meant so much in that moment.

Even while supporting our family and providing attentive care to our child, Shawn was also helping guide and support another nurse in learning. Her ability to balance compassionate care with mentorship was truly impressive.

Throughout our time there, Shawn consistently provided outstanding care, compassion, and reassurance. Her kindness made an incredibly difficult experience feel far less overwhelming, and our family will always be grateful for the comfort and support she provided during such a vulnerable time.
