I would like to nominate this nurse for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional compassion, professionalism, and dedication she demonstrated in caring for my friend and his roommate. My observation of this nurse went far beyond her clinical responsibilities to ensure comfort, understanding, and dignity; she treated not only the medical condition, but the whole person.

Her calm, presence, patience, and kindness made a stressful time much easier. What stood out most was her ability to combine excellent clinical skills with compassion. She took time to listen and answer questions. The patience she showed, mostly my friend’s roommate, exemplifies what a caring and compassionate person she is. That simple act of empathy made a lasting impact and showed how deeply she cares about the people she serves.

In addition to the above, she was precepting a nursing student. I was in awe of the time and explanation she gave that student. As a medical provider and clinical preceptor, I aim to have the same patience with my students. Nurses like this represent the very best of the profession. This RN's commitment to compassionate care, patient advocacy, and unwavering professionalism embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for.

She was so compassionate and understanding. She made my stay comfortable. She was genuine. Even after she wasn’t my nurse, she still stopped in my room to make sure I was OK and to check in on me.
