Just watching her every move, you can tell this job is her passion.
Liana has been truly amazing. She has treated every nursery baby, including our son, like her own. She also makes me feel so comfortable being there every time she is on shift. I truly adore watching her work and can say my son loves her when she takes care of him.
She even made the cutest sign for him with his nickname on it, so the nurses would remember it. The other night, I was telling her that it’s gotten harder as he is in the nursery longer to leave him and that he would not fall asleep, but I had to go home, and all I could think about was him lying awake by himself, and it killed me. Her response was, “don’t you worry when I see him awake I go hang out with him.”
That night, I got a picture of him saying, “Miss you, mom, but don’t worry, I’m hanging with my bestie,” and it truly gave me peace of mind. When she takes care of him, I feel more at ease leaving the hospital to go home. She is also very easy to talk to and is such a joy to talk to. She always gives me a good laugh with her stories. I truly think she deserves this award.
P – Every time Liana walks into your bay, she lights up the room with her positive attitude. She is so amazing with our son, and watching her take care of him always brings me joy and gives me more peace of mind, leaving him there when she is there.
E – You can tell she has children of her own by the way she takes care of the babies. You can share experiences with her, and she will relate to you, so you don’t feel alone as a mom. When sharing with her how sad I get leaving my son awake, but I have no choice but to leave, she is so reassuring that he is not alone, which gave me such ease of mind, and I sleep better knowing she is there with him.
T – I’ve seen her go out of her way to take care of babies that she isn’t with that night, while those nurses are busy, and she does a phenomenal job.
A – Her positive attitude. Her enthusiasm as she takes care of the babies. The care she has towards people and the warmth she shows to every patient coming in.
L – As stated earlier, she truly has such an amazing attitude with every baby she takes care of and treats them as if they are her own. Even when she’s not my son’s nurse, she comes in and talks to him, compliments his outfits, and shows him love and care. I’ve seen her do it with so many babies in there. She always speaks highly of her job and talks about how much of an impact it has on her watching these babies grow. Just watching her every move, you can tell this job is her passion.
S – When telling her about my worries about him being awake when I leave, she went out of her way and sent me a picture, which I approved of, of him saying, “miss you, mom, have a good night,” and I truly felt at ease. I had not slept well in days, constantly up and worrying, and that night I slept so soundly.
She truly deserves this award. No words can truly explain how amazing she is as a nurse and person, but when you see it for yourself, you can tell so easily.
