Maddie takes the time to understand A's unique needs and approaches her care with gentleness and respect, and has been very patient with her, especially on her bad days.
I would like to nominate Maddie for the DAISY Award for her extraordinary care and compassion during my daughter A's hospital stay. A is autistic, G-tube dependent, and has a lot of neurological issues, and has had some very difficult days during this admission. Maddie has shown incredible patience, understanding, and kindness not just toward A, but toward me as a mom navigating the stress of having my child in the hospital. She has encouraged me to take breaks when things get too overwhelming, sat with A for me to go grab lunch, and helped me make our room feel more comfortable since we weren't able to go home.

Maddie takes the time to understand A's unique needs and approaches her care with gentleness and respect, and has been very patient with her, especially on her bad days. She never rushes through any of the tasks the doctors are requesting, always explains what she's doing so I understand, and adjusts her care to make A feel safe and comfortable. Even on A's toughest days, Maddie remains calm, patient, and encouraging, which makes a world of difference for A.

Beyond her nursing skills, Maddie has been an emotional support for me as A's mom. She listens without judgment, answers all my questions, no matter how many I have. She goes above and beyond to ensure that both A and I feel cared for, respected, and supported. We are so grateful for her and will never forget the impact she has made during this difficult time.

Congratulations, Maddie, thank you for all you do for our patients, families, and team members! You are an inspiration to us all!
