My sister and I brought our dad to the Fort Sanders ER because he was very weak and unable to walk. From the moment I asked for help getting him out of the car, the staff was wonderful.

We were taken to a room, where Michael Brock greeted us. He was incredibly kind and attentive to my dad, who was just as scared as we were. Michael began connecting my dad to monitors to determine what was going on, and once everything was set up, we learned that both his heart rate and the lower number of his blood pressure were in the 30s. Throughout the process, Michael kept us informed and explained everything clearly.

The team started medications to help raise my dad’s heart rate and blood pressure. After some time, my dad said he was having trouble breathing. The doctor came in and explained that he would need to place a breathing tube to help him.

We remained under Michael’s care for quite a while, and he was exceptional the entire time. He has such a calm and reassuring presence that truly helped us feel like everything was going to be okay during such a scary situation.
