That simple act of kindness meant a lot — it showed his genuine care and compassion.
I was transferred from San Fernando, Pampanga, where I had undergone an emergency procedure via this access site, the right side of my neck. I was conscious, but I had to be assisted all the time.

On my initial day of treatment at Makati Medical Center, I felt extremely anxious. Looking around the unit, I saw patients who, like me, seemed helpless and vulnerable — unaware of their surroundings.

When I arrived at MMC, I was in a wheelchair. I was assisted by this nurse and other staff members as they helped me transfer to the bed. At that moment, I noticed that one person taking charge of the entire situation was him.

With confidence and calmness in his demeanor, he instructed the bedside nurses to prepare me for the treatment, and he organized the team to ready the machine. He was clearly in control of the situation, and that made me feel safe and at ease.

Anthony constantly checked on me and frequently came by my bed to confer with the bedside nurses. His professionalism, his composure, and the respect he showed toward everyone — nurses, technicians, and physicians — made me feel secure and well cared for. I am certain my wife felt the same way.

Beyond his duties as a bedside nurse and charge nurse, I also saw him manage the unit efficiently. He supervised patient care attentively and maintained open communication with the physicians. During doctors’ rounds, he always stood beside them — ready with accurate updates and insights from a nurse’s perspective.

I remember one moment: while he was checking my access, he noticed that my arm was cold. Without hesitation, he took a blanket and gently placed it over me. That simple act of kindness meant a lot — it showed his genuine care and compassion.

During my two years of treatment, it was this nurse who consistently connected me to the machine. Not once did I experience discomfort or any issue. His competence, dedication, and kindness truly embody what it means to be an extraordinary nurse.
