Through her dedication, Brittany has set a standard of excellence that inspires everyone around her.
I am honored to nominate Brittany McCormack for the DAISY Nurse Educator Award in recognition of her extraordinary dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our nursing community. Brittany is an extraordinary nurse educator because she makes herself available to all her new hires and current Operating Room staff in an approachable, friendly manner. She truly works extremely hard to make sure everyone is prepared and comfortable in their roles. She takes the time to work with staff members who need extra attention and help with learning their position, and is always positive, flexible, and compassionate towards her coworkers.
Coming from the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital perioperative program, she knows what it is like personally to develop a new nursing skill, and she uses that knowledge to encourage new perioperative learners. I think Brittany goes above and beyond in her role to create a nurturing environment for staff. She is flexible in her position, often taking on extra units and learning new things that are uncomfortable for her, so she can master them and further educate. I am just in awe at how much she has grown in her position and feel we are lucky to have her as our educator, and I want to acknowledge how hard she has worked for RWJUH over the last few years in her role. Through her dedication, Brittany has set a standard of excellence that inspires everyone around her. She embodies the true spirit of nursing, where care, compassion, and commitment converge.
