Most importantly, Kiyah embodies the heart of nursing. She showed me kindness during moments of vulnerability, respected my dignity when it mattered most, and treated me with empathy that I will never forget.
I am honored to present Kiyah for the extraordinary compassion, skill, and humanity she demonstrated while caring for me during one of the most vulnerable and difficult periods of my life.
From the moment Kiyah entered my room, she created a sense of safety and calm that went far beyond clinical care. Hospital stays can be frightening, overwhelming, and deeply isolating, but Kiyah has an incredible ability to make patients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. She never made me feel like “just another patient.” Instead, she treated me like a whole person — with dignity, patience, and warmth — even on the hardest days.
Kiyah consistently anticipated my needs before I even had to ask. She paid close attention to subtle changes in how I was feeling, both physically and emotionally, and responded with thoughtfulness and urgency. Whether it was managing my symptoms, explaining what was happening in a way that actually made sense, or advocating for my comfort, she approached every task with competence and confidence while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence.
What truly sets Kiyah apart is her compassion. She took the time to check in with me emotionally, offering encouragement and kindness when I felt exhausted, discouraged, or anxious. She listened — really listened — without rushing, without minimizing my concerns, and without ever making me feel like a burden. In moments when I felt overwhelmed, her steady presence grounded me and made a difficult experience feel more manageable.
Kiyah also demonstrated exceptional professionalism and teamwork. She communicated clearly, followed through consistently, and made sure I understood my care plan. I always felt confident that I was in capable hands. Her attention to detail and dedication to excellence were evident in everything she did, and it was clear that she takes great pride in her work and in providing the highest quality of care.
