Brooke could tell I was in pain and worked with the hospitalist all night to find an acceptable course of action to stop the vomiting and help with the pain I was in.
I became very sick at home and was in excruciating pain. I was brought to the emergency room and was then scheduled to have surgery due to kidney stones. After surgery, I became acquainted with nurse Brooke on my first night. I couldn't have anything to eat or drink, so the evening was fairly uneventful. I had one of the most painful surgeries I've ever had. I've had 14 previously for different things, so I know a great nurse when I have one assigned to me.

From the beginning, Brooke was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Her most recognizable feature is her calming voice and tone. Brooke could tell I was in pain and worked with the hospitalist all night to find an acceptable course of action to stop the vomiting and help with the pain I was in. She was never shaken in her pursuit to help me and stayed with me most of the night. I owe my recovery to Brooke. She brought me different medications to best handle the pain and nausea. She brought me warm blankets and was always there with me through the vomiting, which couldn't have been pleasant.

Her steadfastness and loyalty to her profession are an absolute pleasure to witness. Thank God for nurses like Brooke. I was not an easy patient, but Brooke treated me with respect and kindness at all times. She is a credit to her profession and reflects positively on herself and on St. Vincent Kokomo. She deserves a huge pat on the back and a gracious thank you. Brooke, you are one of the best, and I wish you a happy life, always.
