She consoled us and brought us the print of his last heartbeat in tiny bottles.
My 81-year-old father-in-law was cared for by Kaitlyn, and in all my years, I have never met a nurse filled with so much compassion. She reached out as we were traveling, trying to get back home to him. It's as if she was instantly connected to him and treated him and us with love in his final days and moments. He transitioned to comfort care, and she made it exactly that. She was dedicated to ensuring he was surrounded by loved ones. Her care allowed him his last moments with as little pain as possible. She brought us water, chairs, and snacks from the staff. Then, when he passed, she consoled us and brought us the print of his last heartbeat in tiny bottles. I have lost both my parents in a hospital setting, and this, by far, was an experience that made me feel like my father-in-law was cared for in the highest form I've ever seen. Kaitlyn and the entire team that took care of my father-in-law deserve recognition.
