Bailey is the kind of nurse every family hopes to have during their most vulnerable moments.
I would like to nominate Bailey W. for a DAISY Award for the extraordinary care and compassion she showed my son, C, and our family during his hospital stay. From our very first night in the hospital — a moment filled with fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming emotions — Bailey was there. She worked the night shift throughout our entire stay and was with us on some of the hardest nights a parent can face: C’s first night ever in a hospital, the night before his surgery, and the night after. Knowing Bailey was caring for him brought us a sense of peace during a time when we felt anything but calm. Bailey didn’t just do her job — she cared for C as if he were her own. She was gentle, attentive, and endlessly kind, always making sure he was comfortable and safe. She took the time to truly listen to us, answered our questions with patience, and never made us feel like our worries were too small or unimportant. When we were scared, she reassured us. When we felt overwhelmed, she brought calm. As parents, trusting someone with your child is one of the hardest things you can do. Bailey earned that trust completely. She watched over C closely, advocated for him, and treated our family with such respect and compassion that we will never forget it. Because of her, we were able to rest at night knowing our son was in the best possible hands. Bailey is the kind of nurse every family hopes to have during their most vulnerable moments. Her compassion, dedication, and heart made a lasting impact on our family, and we are forever grateful for her.
