I would like to commend John Kyles for being an extraordinary nurse. John is a dynamic individual who possesses highly desirable characteristics of what constitutes an “Extraordinary nurse.”

As a charge nurse in the unit, I observed him constantly helping his fellow nurses. John is very hands-on but with a nice early bedside manner. In our unit, teamwork is very important. John assists with the workload with his fellow nurses, accepts patients’ assignments without question, handles high-pressure situations, and approaches every situation with grace.

His compassion for patients is evident and greatly appreciated by families and patients. In my daily rounds and talking to patients, they always talk highly of him. One patient said, “I thank God John is my nurse. He makes me feel comfortable. He touches lives with care. He is awesome and energetic. He attends to my needs. I hope he is my nurse tomorrow.”
