Before clocking out at the end of her final shift, she took the time to come say goodbye and encourage me, reflecting on how well this experience had gone compared to my previous one.
I would like to nominate my labor and delivery nurse for a DAISY Award for the extraordinary care she provided during the birth of my child. She was also present during my first labor experience, which had been traumatic, and she carried that understanding with her into every aspect of my care this time. Because of that, she went above and beyond to ensure my second experience was as positive, informed, and supportive as possible.

Throughout my labor and postpartum recovery, she consistently checked on me, explained what to expect, and made sure I felt heard and supported. Her attentiveness and compassion made a profound difference. During my C-section, when I was understandably anxious—especially with a second diagnosis of preeclampsia—her calm reassurance, positive words, and warm presence were a true source of comfort.

Not only is she an exceptional registered nurse, but she is also a genuinely wonderful person. Before clocking out at the end of her final shift, she took the time to come say goodbye and encourage me, reflecting on how well this experience had gone compared to my previous one. That moment meant more to me than she likely knows.
Her professionalism, empathy, and dedication exemplify the very best of nursing. I will always be grateful for the role she played in transforming what could have been a frightening experience into a healing and positive one.
