Not only does Dr. Arambula consistently demonstrate excellent clinical skills and attention to detail, but she also provides care with a positive attitude and genuine kindness.
Dr. Arambula, DNP, consistently goes above and beyond for her patients while providing exceptional, compassionate, and detail-oriented care.
During a follow-up appointment, Dr. Arambula noticed that a patient’s wound vac, which was not placed by the PACT team, was not functioning properly. Upon close assessment, she identified that the tubing to the wound vac was not sealed and was beginning to come off. Recognizing the potential risk to the patient’s healing and the patient’s concerns, she immediately took action.
Dr. Arambula ensured transparent dressings were ordered so she could assist the patient appropriately. After the patient returned from the pharmacy, Dr. Arambula personally reassessed the wound on her own time, properly sealed the wound vac tubing, and secured the wound vac tubing in a way that wouldn’t be removed by a quick tug. She also had the patient gently tug the tube to ensure it was secure, which the patient thanked Dr. Arambula.
She also provided thorough education to the patient on wound vac care and went a step further by researching the specific wound vac machine to ensure all information and instructions she provided were accurate.
Throughout the encounter, Dr. Arambula demonstrated genuine compassion and empathy, taking the time to reassure the patient and address his concerns. She also allowed and encouraged teaching for nurses, by allowing me to be present during her assessment (with patients’ approval). Dr. Arambula provided me with guidance and education on wound vac care to support continued high-quality patient care.
