I was a patient of Brittany’s for two nights in a row, and I was so impressed by her patience, knowledge, and compassion. She was training another nurse each night as well, so I could see the leadership qualities she taught them — all while still being so thorough and helpful to my needs. She never rushed. She explained everything in detail. She met my needs and still offered to always do more.

I never felt like a burden; she didn’t allow me to feel needy or like a burden. She validated my feelings and questions all the time. She was never awkward or hesitant to help with the messy stuff we moms have to take care of when healing. She was so exceptional and stood out among the rest — and she should be recognized. For being extraordinary. I felt seen, heard, and very well taken care of under her care. Before I had my baby, I prayed for God to put all the right people in the care we’d receive, and she was such a huge blessing. I had a very traumatic birth and recovery four years ago, and to say I was nervous this time is an understatement.

Thank you, Brittany, for all you did! You made this mama enjoy her recovery and heal from past birth trauma at the same time. You might not know my traumatic birth experience from years ago, but you being so great and caring so much made this birth experience so wonderful. You really showed us what a nurse’s heart should look like!
