My mother transferred to Ortho Neuro fragile and frightened. She was coming out of altered mental status changes that left her confused, scared, and dependent upon constant reassurance. I work in the same hospital, but nothing prepares you for being on the family side of care.

Arthur was the first person during her hospitalization who made me genuinely laugh – a moment of relief I didn’t realize I desperately needed. He never once made me feel like a burden when I called, worried about her. He responded with patience and kindness every time. He gave me real, thoughtful updates when I wasn’t at her bedside. Arthur cared for her with a level of compassion that went far beyond routine nursing.

Arthur’s presence changed everything. He brought humanity back into a situation that felt overwhelming and isolating. He treated my mother with dignity, and he treated me with empathy. I remain deeply grateful that her transition onto the unit began with a nurse who embodies our organization’s mission and values.

Even though we only had Arthur one night during her stay, that one night left a lasting impact on both of us. Arthur didn’t just provide excellent clinical care; he provided hope and connection at a time when we needed it most. I want him to know that his care truly mattered.
