Fom the moment we met, she went above and beyond not just in her clinical care, but in the compassion, love, and humanity she showed my family and me.
At just 26 years old, I received the devastating diagnosis of lymphoma. In a time filled with fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming emotion, one person made all the difference—Gabby. From the moment we met, she went above and beyond not just in her clinical care, but in the compassion, love, and humanity she showed my family and me.

Gabby has a rare gift. She doesn’t just treat patients—she sees the whole person. She took the time to learn about me, my story, and most importantly, my 4-year-old child, who was deeply affected by my illness. Gabby made sure my child felt included during visits, offering special snacks and simple gestures that brought comfort and normalcy to an incredibly difficult situation.

On one of my hardest mornings—emotionally drained and physically unwell—Gabby surprised me with breakfast. It wasn’t just food; she cut my toast into the shape of a heart. That simple act carried so much love and care. It reminded me that even in the hardest moments, there are people who truly see you. Gabby embodies the spirit of nursing in every way. She leads with empathy, treats with kindness, and brings light to even the darkest situations.

She is the kind of nurse who makes you feel not like just another patient, but like a person who matters—deeply and genuinely. For her selflessness, her heart, and her ability to make a profound difference during one of the most difficult times of my life, I am nominating Gabby for the DAISY Award. She is more than deserving—she is the reason patients like me can find hope and healing through the power of compassionate care.
