Being in the hospital is never easy. I was depressed and scared. It may sound silly, 62 years old and scared, but from the time Laura walked in the door with a bright smile and asked me if I was ok and I just started crying, Laura held my hand and just listened to me, reassuring me, letting me know I was not childish for being scared, that I had gone through a traumatic experience.

Before leaving my room, she had me smiling and laughing, and by the end of the day, I wasn't scared, and the depression had subsided. Just taking time to listen and extra time to put a smile on my face, making jokes, and just checking throughout the whole day, taking time to make sure I was doing better, not just physically, but mentally. Laura has compassion, going above and beyond, taking extra time just to make sure I was doing better, even though it was a very busy day.

The concern and caring nature she showed made me feel 100 percent better both physically and mentally. I need to say all of your nurses are the best I've experienced, and I have been in a lot of hospitals. I want to say thank you, Laura, for everything!
