Emma sprang into action, and because of her, this man has a second chance at life, and his wife still has her husband.
I am nominating Emma because her a display of excellence outside of the Pediatric Oncology unit, but Emma heroically saved a man's life after his pacemaker failed in her driveway this past weekend. Emma was in Montana when an Uber driver pulled into their property and promptly lost his pulse. Emma sprang into action, administering chest compressions and directing others on how they could be helping in the crisis, from what to say to emergency services on the phone to the importance of just having someone hold the man's hand. She alternated administering chest compressions for nearly 20 minutes, helping the man regain a pulse until an ambulance arrived. Emma sprang into action, and because of her, this man has a second chance at life, and his wife still has her husband. Not only that, but she gave her wife her number in case she has any questions or just wants to talk. Her compassion and care helped to not only save a man's life, but also inspired everyone around her. I cannot be more in awe of her!
