Our son had second and third-degree burns and spent several days in the hospital. He ended up having to spend his birthday in the hospital as well. Michaela went above and beyond every single day for our little guy.

She visited him every chance she got, even if she wasn’t our nurse that day. She found ways to encourage him using his interests that she learned about him, for example, she knew he loved Pokemon so she wore her Pokemon cap for him and played the Pokemon theme song while cheering him on during physical therapy when he was beginning to walk again.

Michaela always made sure to advocate for him when it was needed. Our son still talks about her and loves her. She made him feel comfortable and listened to him at such a vulnerable time. We, as parents, are so thankful. She was also a huge support for us during such a hard time. She made sure we understood everything that was happening and why. She made sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable the day of discharge.

We are forever grateful for her and the impact she had on our family.
