Sharon Brown, RN2 on Ward F10, is an experienced nurse with many years of nursing under her belt. She is compassionate, caring, reliable, and honest, with all the traits you would want in a great nurse.

She works exceptionally well with the patients on F10, and they truly notice the difference when she is present compared to when she is not. Sharon shows up on both good days and challenging days, yet she always carries a smile on her face.

She engages with her patients daily, and it is common to see her and her patients sharing jokes and laughter. At the same time, she knows when to be firm and set appropriate boundaries, ensuring that no one takes advantage of her kindness. She treats both her patients and her colleagues with respect and demonstrates a strong work ethic in everything she does.

When Sharon is working, you know it is going to be a good day.

One example of Sharon’s expertise occurred when staff informed her that a patient had refused their medication during medication time. Sharon calmly walked into the day area and spoke with the patient for a few minutes. Shortly after, they were seen walking together, arm in arm, toward the medication line, both smiling. The patient took their medication, and they continued to talk for a few minutes before mealtime.

Sharon has built an incredible rapport with her patients on F10. When she is away for several days or even a week, patients welcome her back with open arms. You can often hear Sharon talking with her patients, whether through the patient window or out in the day area, and their shared laughter fills the room with warmth.

Sharon is truly amazing at what she does. She is a wonderful nurse who knows when to be serious and when to bring lightness into the environment. She ensures her patients are safe and supports her staff just as strongly.
