I am a 23-year-old who just recently found out that the chances of me having testicular cancer were extremely high. I had a surgery scheduled to have a testicle removed. Vickie was my pre-op nurse, who my family and I feel went above and beyond normal healthcare hospitality. As my family and I are going through a tough time, Vickie tried to keep our spirits up and smiles on our faces, which was greatly appreciated as my mom and girlfriend, who were in the room with me, had been on the verge of tears all morning. She was very compassionate and empathetic towards my situation and hidden fear. Vickie also gave me the best IV I've ever received with little to no pain, even with it being placed into my hand. She then asked if she could pray for my family and me before I got wheeled off to surgery. I truly believe Vickie was placed in our path for a reason, as she was a true blessing.
