The CTRU team caring for my dad is beyond amazing. Christina, Katie, Ginger, and Lindsay's unwavering commitment to excellence and compassionate care embodies the highest standards of the Mayo Clinic. They exemplify Mayo's primary value: The needs of the patient come first. Their compassion and warmth are evident every single day my dad is in their care.

These nurses bring not only clinical skill but also heart to their roles, offering kindness, a calming presence, and genuine interest in their patients. They build real connections with patients and families, making each interaction feel personal and meaningful. From ensuring my dad's two warm blankets, nonskid socks, Lorna Doone cookies, and cold water are ready before he even enters the room, to remembering his upcoming birthday and surprising him with a Trader Joe's cake and candle (even after we had a two-month break between treatments), these moments go far beyond routine care.

While these gestures may seem small, they meant the world to him. In his words: It was totally unexpected and very emotional, heartwarming. It made me feel like they were in my corner for the long haul, and I could count on them to be there for me. As both a daughter and a nurse, witnessing the impact of such thoughtful acts made me realize just how extraordinary this team truly is. They recognize and respect that I am a nurse, while also being mindful that I'm here as a patient's family member, showing empathy and professionalism in equal measure.

Beyond their kindness, they also demonstrate exceptional clinical knowledge and stay up to date with all clinical trial protocols. Their attention to detail is outstanding, from closely monitoring patients' conditions to maintaining thorough communication across the care team; they ensure that no aspect of care is overlooked. In my professional capacity, I've had the privilege of working alongside them and have witnessed firsthand how their excellence contributes to the success of Mayo's clinical trials and, most importantly, improved outcomes for all of their patients.
