I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Garrett for special recognition, such as the DAISY Award, for the truly exceptional care he provided to my husband during his two-night stay following a serious cardiac event. His service, particularly during critical hours, went far beyond ordinary duty and perfectly embodies the PRIIDE values of our organization.
From the moment Garrett became my husband’s nurse, his demeanor was one of profound kindness and compassion. He demonstrated immediate clinical excellence, ensuring all emergency equipment and necessary medications were secured and ready at the bedside. He was meticulous in preparing my husband for a potential procedure, demonstrating exceptional foresight and clinical preparedness.
What was most notable was Garrett’s highly effective and inclusive communication. As a cardiac nurse myself, I appreciated that he never assumed my professional knowledge. Instead, he took the time to thoroughly explain every step of the care plan, medications, and potential outcomes, treating both my husband and me with respect and attentiveness. This level of personalized communication built immense trust during a vulnerable time.
