When things feel heavy, she brings calm, perspective, and encouragement that make challenges feel more manageable.
The last few weeks have been some of the hardest my family and I have experienced. In the middle of an emergency, I found myself calling Alexandra in a panic—honestly, more like calling a mom friend than a coworker. Knowing her background as a Pediatric Emergency Room nurse, I trusted that she would understand the situation and help guide me through it. Even though Alexandra is not my direct leader, she did not hesitate for a second. She immediately stepped in, took over everything, managed all communication, and repeatedly reassured me not to worry about work and to focus on my family. In a moment where everything felt overwhelming, her calm presence grounded me. The way she showed up during one of my most stressful moments meant more to me than I can fully put into words and truly reflects Atrium Health’s values of caring, commitment, integrity, and teamwork.
Alexandra consistently leads with empathy and compassion in everything she does. She approaches every interaction with kindness and respect, no matter the situation, and she genuinely cares about the people around her. She openly shares mental health resources with her team and actively encourages self‑care, reminding us that taking care of ourselves is just as important as caring for others. She doesn’t just talk about empathy—she lives it every single day, and you can feel it in the way she supports those around her.
She motivates and supports staff through open communication and a sincere concern for the well‑being of others. Alexandra leads with a shared vision focused on better outcomes for both staff and patients, and her positivity and reassurance have a way of lifting people up, especially during difficult times. When things feel heavy, she brings calm, perspective, and encouragement that make challenges feel more manageable.
Alexandra also creates an inclusive and supportive environment where people truly feel heard and valued. She builds meaningful connections with teammates and colleagues and has a natural ability to make others feel safe, supported, and respected. Her compassion, leadership, and willingness to step up without being asked—especially when it matters most—set her apart. Alex exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Leader, and I am incredibly grateful for her support, her leadership, and the genuine care she shows every day.
