I would like to nominate Barb, our home care nurse, for the DAISY Award. Since my child came home from the hospital, Barb has been a tremendous source of support, guidance, and comfort for both of us.

Barb goes above and beyond in every interaction. She is incredibly knowledgeable, yet she never hesitates to share her expertise in a way that empowers me to care for my child with confidence. She takes the time to teach me how to do things step by step, always with patience and encouragement. At the same time, Barb is open to learning any tips or tools I’ve discovered that might help her with other patients—showing her humility and commitment to continual growth.

Her care is not only skilled but also deeply compassionate. Barb is gentle with my daughter, making every procedure as comfortable as possible, and her kind, calming presence helps reduce stress in what can be overwhelming situations. She has also gone out of her way to accommodate my schedule, showing flexibility and understanding that makes a world of difference for our family.

What stands out most about Barb is the combination of her professionalism, her willingness to share and receive knowledge, and her genuine compassion. She embodies the spirit of nursing—caring for the whole family, not just the patient. We are so grateful for her and the difference she makes every single day.
