Khanh truly is a one-of-a-kind nurse. She impacts those around her in such a positive way. She cares for her patients deeply and assists her coworkers without being asked. Those characteristics alone make this young nurse DAISY worthy. Khanh takes time with her patients to get to know them on a deeper level.

Upon rounding this weekend, Khanh was found assisting a patient out of bed who had not gotten out of bed in nearly a week. She had fully bathed him and was washing his hair, similar to the way they do at the spa. The patient was so relaxed and smiling from ear to ear. Then, she had the patient up walking the halls, laughing, smiling, and talking. She truly made him feel cared for, heard, and special. 

She didn't stop there in her shift of special acts. Her coworker was struggling with walking their patient, and she quickly jumped into action to help him with his patient to ensure the safety of not only his patient but also her coworker. She cares deeply for every patient on the unit and her coworkers.

Then, when an admission rolled in, Khanh quickly raced into the room to assist with setting the patient up and getting the patient settled.  Her attitude is contagious, and her willingness to jump in and assist is so encouraging and uplifting. 

Finally, Khanh finished the day by treating myself and her fellow staff members with her incredible homemade cooking. (Which was so delicious, Khanh).  She loves caring for everyone through her compassionate care and is an extraordinary example of an outstanding role model, especially given that she has only been off of orientation a short time and is a nurse resident. Khanh is a special talent, and I am so blessed to work alongside her.
