Not only does Kaela know her job, but she also knows how to read her patients and isn't afraid to put herself out there for them.
I was brought to Maine Medical Center from Damariscotta by ambulance with debilitating head pain. They were concerned I was having multiple strokes. I was moved to R2 after initial testing. I was finally diagnosed with reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome. There wasn't much to be done but pain management, which was very frustrating for all involved. Kaela was a ray of sunshine every time I saw her. Even if I was asking for ice, she always had a smile and a nice word to pass along. She was the best for me when the PA assigned to my care was not following my instructions. He brushed my concerns aside, making me feel like he wanted me out so he could give the bed to someone else. Kaela was there to step in, describe to me what it was like when I went through an episode, and advocate for a different approach from the PA. Not only does Kaela know her job, but she also knows how to read her patients and isn't afraid to put herself out there for them. Since I was in so much pain, it was really important to me to have Kaela there to help. Please keep her here for those she will care for after me.
