Angel made a difficult situation much more bearable, especially for our loved one, who had never been in the hospital before and did not want to go.
When our family arrived at the emergency department with our loved one in a tentative and uncertain condition, we were overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of what to expect. From the moment we met Angel, everything changed. “He was our Angel.”
He greeted us with compassion, professionalism, and a calm, reassuring presence that immediately put us at ease. Angel didn’t just care for the patient—he genuinely cared for the entire family. He was well-mannered, respectful, and incredibly attentive. He brought us everything we needed without hesitation and always explained things in a way that we could understand. There wasn’t a single thing we asked for that he didn’t do his best to provide. Most importantly, he listened. When we had questions, he never overstepped. Instead, he maintained his integrity by directing us to the physician, ensuring that we received accurate, clear information.
His professionalism never wavered. Angel made a difficult situation much more bearable, especially for our loved one, who had never been in the hospital before and did not want to go. His kind demeanor, compassion, and thorough care created a safe, comfortable environment for us all. The experience only highlighted how high he had set the standard for care.
We left the hospital still thinking about what an exceptional nurse he was. Angel truly embodies the spirit of nursing. He is exactly the kind of caregiver the DAISY Award was created to honor; One who makes a lasting impact through compassion, skill, and genuine heart. We are so thankful for the care he provided that night and won’t forget it. He is the true definition of “Exceptional” care. Doing the right thing, the right way, every time!!! Thank you, Angel, for being our “angel” during a time of uncertainty.
