Anne Marie was taking care of a patient who had been admitted to our unit for at least 6 weeks, and at times, he could be a bit challenging. She developed a great relationship with him and went out of her way to make his extended time in our unit the best it could possibly be.

One day, the patient was telling her how he really needed a haircut. The next night, she brought him clippers from home and gave him one. He was so appreciative and grateful that he told anyone who would listen about how his night nurse gave him his nice haircut.

This is just one small example of the types of things that Anne Marie does for her patients every single shift. She truly embodies everything that the DAISY award stands for, and we are extremely lucky to get to work with such a caring and compassionate nurse.
