Misti encourages us to dream for what we want, gives us great advice on how to get there, and helps instill the confidence in ourselves that we need to succeed!
Misti is the definition of a manager who goes above and beyond! She loves to take any and every opportunity to celebrate her staff. We all feel so supported by her! Whether it is ordering us a little treat after a hard day or week, making us breakfast when its daylight savings, checking in on us in person or via Voalte if we are having a rough shift, organizing massage therapists to come to the floor when we all could really use it, advocating for her staff to other hospital leadership members, or giving us helpful feedback to be the best nurses we can be. She is always looking out for our floor.
It is her example of genuine joy, kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion that inspires all of us PCA 4 staff to exhibit these qualities as well. Misti runs such a smooth sailing floor with minimal chaos or negative complaints from families or other staff members. Not only does she do her job well, but she is also a great friend to all of us! She really gets to know who we are outside the hospital by taking the time to ask us questions and chat with us. We all know that whether it's work-related or personal life stuff, we can go to her and talk to her about anything! She is also someone who desires all of us nurses and techs to be able to ultimately reach whatever career goals we may have. Misti encourages us to dream for what we want, gives us great advice on how to get there, and helps instill the confidence in ourselves that we need to succeed! Everyone who works on the fourth floor knows they are in great hands under her leadership! I can say without a doubt that she is one of the best unit managers at CHOA!
Note: This is Misti's 2nd DAISY Award!
