I have been going into the infusion suite for months. While they are all great in there, Laine really shines. A few months ago, I was there for a transfusion and showed Laine a surgical stitched wound on my hip area, which had swelled to a golf ball over the last day.

She noticed how red, firm, and swollen it was and kept urging me to contact my surgeon's office - either by phone call or message on MYCHART to get an immediate appointment. As part of my treatment, I was given IV Benadryl before my transfusion and was ''out of it'' and the last thing I was going to do is try to schedule all an appointment.

Every time she came to check my vital signs, she'd ask me, "Did you contact them yet?" Finally, she took the matter into her own hands and came back and told me she'd set up an appointment with my surgeon’s office immediately after the transfusion was complete. Sure enough, I went to my surgeon’s office, and they had to drain what was happening at my incision site!
