Suk is exactly what every patient hopes for in a nurse: kind, selfless, professional, and full of humanity. He did not just care for my body; he cared for my spirit.
During my hospital stay, I was scared, uncomfortable, and unsure of what was happening. Then Suk walked into my room, and everything started to feel a little bit easier. From that first moment, his calm and caring presence brought a sense of peace that I desperately needed.

He did not just take care of my medical needs — he took care of me as a person. He listened when I was worried, reassured me when I was frustrated, and treated me with such patience and respect. Even on the busiest days, he never seemed rushed. He took the time to explain what was happening, to make sure I was comfortable, and to remind me that I was not alone in this.

What touched me most was how kind and thoughtful he was with my family, even though they all knew each other as they are co-workers. They were anxious and trying to be strong for me, but I could see their fear. Suk went out of his way to keep them informed, answer their questions, and treated them with the hope of not knowing what was happening to me.

Knowing that he was looking after them, too, lifted such a huge weight off my shoulders. There was one moment that I’ll never forget — when I was having a particularly painful day, he sat with me for a few minutes, reminding me that it would pass” or “when my family couldn’t be there, he made sure I didn’t feel alone and was informed of everything of what was happening since I was on isolation and not able to move about. That kind of compassion cannot be taught — it comes from the heart.

Suk is exactly what every patient hopes for in a nurse: kind, selfless, professional, and full of humanity. He did not just care for my body; he cared for my spirit. I will forever be grateful for the difference he made during one of the hardest experiences of my life. He is truly one of the most extraordinary nurses I have ever met, and he deserves to be recognized for the light he brings to his patients and their families.

Thank you, Suk, for all you do and all that you have done for my family and me.
