Cristina Medina was the nurse assigned to take care of a patient who had recently delivered a baby via emergency C-section. Consequently, the patient was admitted to Renal Gold 5 days after delivery of the child and was hospitalized for several days.

Recognizing the challenges that the patient faced, Cristina proactively contacted the NICU where the patient’s 5-day-old baby was and was able to connect with the NICU nurse and Charge Nurse.

Her efforts resulted in the mom being able to spend time with her newborn for almost an hour and engage in precious bonding moments that she had not been able to experience during her hospitalization.
