Carmen embodied empathy. She recognized my mom had a language barrier, but still made sure she was addressing her calmly and clearly. She didn’t see a barrier. She simply saw a patient. I felt so comfortable with Carmen taking care of my mom that I rushed home, got dressed for work, and came back to the hospital. Carmen truly served her calling as a nurse.
