Traci made sure they understood all of the ins and outs of what would be, both good and bad.
My family spent 3 days in an area. They had information flying at them at 100 mph from family and staff. Traci was so patient and explained every option and situation to them in ways that did not go over their heads. Traci took time to help them understand. When my family was about to be released with a plan to do a procedure, Traci made sure they understood all of the ins and outs of what would be, both good and bad.

When they decided that was what they wanted, Traci met with them and the Doctor and the patient's family to be what the patient felt was an advocate for what they felt was their best option, and helped them communicate why they wanted that. After our first night at the hospital, they felt that everyone was telling them what to do, but Traci made them understand all of the options and never made them feel like they were being pushed to make any one choice. They had the right to choose how this would end. When my family was afraid of the checks, Traci went slow, and before doing anything physical, Traci would call out where her hands were going to touch one by one, and while other checks seemed to cause pain, Traci's approach comforted her enough that she was able to tolerate them without panic or pain.
